On December 5, 2019 in the municipal hall of the Council in the municipality of Belitsa, the first promotional press conference of the project "Cultural bridge through the centuries"
was held.
The press conference was attended by representatives of the two project partners, media from Macedonia, representatives of several municipalities from the East planning region and representatives of the Municipality of Belitsa. The project teams presented the activities and objectives of the project, and the representatives of the Community Centre "Georgi Todorov 1885" and the Centre for development of the East planning region had their welcoming speeches.
The project "Cultural bridge through the centuries" is funded by the European Union and
the Ministry of Local Self-Government within the INTERREG IPA CBC Program between Republic of Bulgaria – Republic of North Macedonia 2014-2020. Leading partner in the realization of the project is the Community Centre "Georgi Todorov 1885" from the municipality of Belitsa, while the Centre for development of the East planning region is a
project partner.
The project is oriented towards specific needs such as socialization of tourist locations and making the sites more appealing for visit, promotion of tourist attractions of different types, increasing the quality of tourist information and services, greater cross sector cooperation in culture and tourism – local government, business sector. The project implementation strategy is based on a mutual strategic approach to the introduction of cultural heritage and the promotion of cultural traditions that will lead to the creation of conditions for the development of tourist destinations using the preserved cultural heritage.
The total value of the project is around 406,000 euros.
