From 10-12 March 2021 in hotel Izgrev in Shtip was realized training for strengthening the capacities in the field of management of cultural events and cultural heritage, as part of the activities with the project "Cultural bridge through the centuries".
The capacity building activity includes two three-day trainings: the first "Cultural heritage management", and the second "Cultural events management". The focus of the trainings is the importance of cultural heritage for the development
of cultural tourism, its management and sustainable use. At the same time, the stakeholders on both sides of the border will be trained to properly create, plan, implement and manage cultural events for the benefit of tourism development.
The first two-day training was held in a combined way, the representatives of the municipality of Belitsa with physical presence were located in the big hall of
the Community Centre "Georgi Todorov 1885", and the Macedonian participants were located in hotel Izgrev in Shtip, mutually connected via virtual
means of communication that support interactivity. The event was attended by a total of 30 participants from both sides of the border.
The three-day trainings were organized in accordance with all health measures and protocols for protection of the health of the citizens from Covid – 19.
This activity contributed to the improvement of the skills and capabilities of the stakeholders in the field of tourism in the East planning region in order to better use the tangible and intangible cultural heritage to promote cultural tourism and develop an appropriate tourist offer in the cross-border region.
