In the information center in Belitsa in the period 16-18 June 2021 a discussion forum was held on "Utilization of religion and archaeological cultural heritage for the development of cultural tourism", as part of the activities in the project "Cultural bridge through the centuries".
The three-day event was attended by participants from East planning region and Belitsa and was organized in accordance with all health measures and protocols for protection of the health of the citizens of Covid – 19.
The topics covered at the forum enabled the sharing of worldwide practices and experiences, challenges in the development of cultural tourism and factors that affect its success, interpretation of natural and cultural heritage, e- marketing and new digital technologies in favor of tourism development. and culture, as well as opportunities for future cooperation between the two sides to improve tourism potential.
In addition to the panel discussions, the participants in the three-day discussion forum had the opportunity to get acquainted with the intangible cultural heritage of Belitsa, to visit the main tourist attractions and potentials, and the official end of the forum was marked with a theatrical performance in the reconstructed Community Centre in Belitsa, starring the famous Bulgarian actor Hristo Garbov.
